A café website has a different job to a restaurant’s. Nobody’s booking a table three weeks out, they’re two streets away right now, they want a coffee or a bite, and they’ve got about two minutes and a phone to decide where. They search, they glance at a couple of photos, they check you’re open and where you are, and they pick. Your website exists to win that tiny moment, over and over, all day. Get it right and it’s quietly filling seats from the people who happen to be nearby and undecided. That’s what I build it to do.

Sell the vibe in seconds

People choose a café on feel, the room, the coffee, the bakes, the little details that make your place yours. So the photos do the heavy lifting: warm, real shots of the space, the flat white, the counter groaning with good stuff, never stock. I build them to look inviting and load instantly on a phone, because that’s where the split-second choice happens. A nearby stranger who scrolls a couple of photos and thinks “ooh, there” is already on their way.

Answer the walk-in questions instantly

A café website lives or dies on the practical basics, because the decision is so quick. Are you open now? Where exactly are you, with a one-tap route so nobody wanders off to a rival? What’s on the menu, and roughly what’s it cost? Any dietary or allergen info? I put these front and centre, always accurate, so a hungry stranger gets everything they need in a single tap. Nothing loses a walk-in like out-of-date hours or a menu they can’t find.

Give people a flavour of you

The chains are consistent and soulless; your edge is character. So a little of your story goes a long way, where the beans come from, what you bake, why you started, the regulars, the dog-friendly corner. It’s what turns a one-off passer-by into a regular who chooses you on purpose, and it’s exactly what a big brand can’t copy. I weave that personality through the site so you feel like a place worth going out of the way for.

Add the extras that actually earn their place

Some cafés genuinely benefit from more than a shop window, order-ahead for the morning rush, a simple loyalty scheme, brunch or event bookings, even selling your beans or offering wholesale. Others are better off keeping it simple and just getting people through the door. I’ll give you an honest steer and build in only what earns its keep, so the site works for how your café actually makes money rather than bolting on features for the sake of it.

Built by me, kept simple

You deal with me start to finish, no account managers, no agency faff, no jargon. I plan it, build it and look after it, and the site and domain are yours to keep with no lock-in. New seasonal menu, changed hours, a fresh batch of photos? Message me and it’s done. And once the site’s turning nearby searchers into walk-ins, being found by more of them is the natural next step, that’s the SEO side.

Questions

The things people usually ask

My café runs on footfall and Instagram, do I need a website?
Footfall and Instagram are brilliant, but they leave gaps. Someone new to the area searches 'coffee shop near me' and picks from what Google shows, and that's often decided by your website and profile, not your feed. Your own site is where your hours, menu, location and vibe live reliably in one quick place, so you catch the walk-ins Instagram never reaches.
What matters most on a café website?
The fast, practical stuff people check before walking in, are you open now, where exactly are you, what's on the menu, what's the vibe, plus photos that make them want to come. I build those front and centre so a nearby stranger gets everything they need in one tap and heads your way instead of a rival's.
Do I need online ordering or bookings?
Only if it genuinely helps. Some cafés do well with order-ahead, a loyalty scheme, or bookings for brunch and events; plenty are better off just getting people through the door. I'll give you an honest steer rather than selling you features you won't use, and build in whatever actually earns its place.
What does it cost?
From £249 as a fixed price, agreed before we start, a lot less than an agency, and the site and domain are yours to keep. Extras like online ordering or a loyalty setup I'll price clearly up front so it's your call.
