When someone searches for a local business, a plumber, a salon, a café, an accountant near them, Google usually shows a little map with three businesses pinned to it before anything else. That’s the local pack, and for a business that serves a local area it’s the most valuable spot on the whole page. People tap those three far more than anything below, and being one of them can genuinely change how busy you are. What decides who appears there isn’t luck, it’s your Google Business Profile, and how well it’s set up. Getting yours into that pack is exactly what this is for.

The detail that gets you ranked

Most Google Business Profiles are half-finished, a name, an address, maybe a photo, and it shows in where they rank. Google leans on the detail to decide who to trust in the map results: the right primary category and the secondary ones, every service spelled out, genuine photos, accurate opening hours and service area, and a handful of settings most people never find. I go through all of it properly, so your profile sends Google every signal it’s looking for and climbs the local results rather than sitting invisible on page three.

The best-value thing a local business can do

Because a Google Business Profile is free to run and works without a website, it’s often the fastest and cheapest way to start getting found locally, which is why I usually point local businesses here first. It stands on its own, and it works even harder next to a quick, well-built site. Either way, it’s the groundwork that gets you visible while everything else builds.

Part of the bigger local picture

Your profile drives the map results; it’s one piece of getting found. It works best alongside the rest, a fast site that ranks in the standard results (that’s getting found on Google), consistent business listings across the web, and a steady flow of genuine Google reviews. Sorted together, they compound. But if you do just one thing, do this.

Fair, one-off price

A full Google Business Profile setup and optimisation starts at £150, a one-off, fixed price agreed before I start, with nothing ongoing to sign up to. You deal directly with me, and the profile stays entirely yours.

What clients say

Real, verified reviews, never invented. Proud of the 5.0 rating.

“We asked Jake to help us create a new website as our old one was outdated and was not doing well with SEO. Our new website looks amazing and we are now ranking number 1 on Google! Very happy and would definitely recommend.”

Debbie Collins Google review

“Absolutely amazing service. Jake built me a professional local website and helped get my business ranking number one in my area. I'd previously spent hundreds of pounds on ads with very little to show for it, but since getting the website and local SEO sorted, I've seen a real difference. Jake now takes care of my local SEO for me, so I can focus on running the business while the enquiries and jobs keep coming in. Couldn't recommend Jake enough to any local business looking to get found on Google and bring in more work.”

“Top quality service from Jake. Communication was on point from the moment go, being able to talk directly to Jake unlike a big provider made the experience so much easier and better. Needed a website for my kitchen that I could easily add, edit and remove things like menus and photos, and Jake did just that and more. Exactly what I needed. Thanks for everything Jake!”

Questions

The things people usually ask

Isn't a Google Business Profile just a free listing I fill in myself?
You can set one up yourself, and lots of businesses do, but a half-filled profile rarely ranks. The difference is in the detail: the right primary and secondary categories, every service listed, proper photos, the correct area, posts and the settings most people never touch. Those are exactly the signals Google uses to decide who shows in the local pack, and getting them right is what moves you up it. That's the bit I do.
Do I need a website for this to work?
No, a Google Business Profile works on its own, which is what makes it such good value. It's often the fastest, cheapest way to start getting found locally, with no new website needed. It works even better alongside a fast, well-built site, but you don't need one to start showing up on the map.
How is this different from broader SEO?
This is specifically about the map results, the local pack, rather than the standard blue-link results below. The two work together: your profile drives the map, your site drives the organic listings. If you want the whole picture, see my page on getting found on Google, and pair this with consistent business listings and more reviews for the strongest result.
What does it cost?
From £150 for a full setup and optimisation, a one-off, fixed price agreed up front, with no ongoing tie-in.
