Picture your actual customer for a second. They’re hungry, they’re close by, and they’ve got about two minutes and a phone to decide where to go. They search, they scroll, they glance at a couple of photos, and they pick. Your café’s website exists to win that little moment. Get it right and it’s quietly filling tables all day.

Sell the feeling, fast

People don’t choose a café on a spec sheet, they choose on how it makes them feel before they’ve even arrived. So the site has to sell the atmosphere in seconds:

  • Proper photos of the room, the coffee, the food, the little details, never stock imagery
  • The menu, easy to read on a phone, with prices and the good stuff up top
  • Opening hours that are actually right, including weekends and holidays
  • Where you are, with a map and a one-tap route so they don’t wander off to a rival
  • A flavour of you, the story, the beans, the bakes, whatever makes your place your place

Everything a hungry stranger needs, in one tap

Instagram’s great for the vibe and Google gets you found, but neither reliably answers the practical questions in one place, and that’s exactly where cafés lose the walk-in. Your own site pulls it all together: what you serve, when you’re open, where to find you, and any dietary or allergen info people increasingly want before they commit. One quick, trustworthy source, on the device they’re already holding.

Keeping the menu fresh without the faff

Menus change, specials, seasons, that supplier who let you down. So I build yours so updating it is genuinely quick, no coding required. And if you’d honestly rather never touch it, that’s fine too: menu tweaks are just part of looking after your site, so you message me and it’s done. No café owner should be up at 11pm fighting with a website to change the price of a flat white.

Bookings and order-ahead, only if it earns its place

Some cafés genuinely benefit from table bookings or a simple order-ahead; loads are better off keeping it dead simple and just getting bums on seats. I won’t bolt on features to pad an invoice. I’ll tell you straight whether it’s worth it for your place, and if it is, build it so it’s easy for you and your customers.

Fair, upfront pricing

Café websites start at £249, agreed as a fixed price before any work begins, so there’s no nasty surprise at the end. It’s honest money for a proper site, nowhere near agency prices, and you own the site and domain for good. Extras like bookings get priced separately and clearly, so it’s always your call.

Your phone is your busiest table

More people will meet your café on a phone screen than will ever sit in it, and that first impression decides whether they visit at all. If your site is slow, cramped or a faff to read one-handed on the walk over, you’ve lost them before they’ve tasted a thing. So I build mobile-first, properly: big clear photos, a menu you can skim in seconds, tap-to-call and tap-for-directions right there, nothing to pinch or zoom. Treat that little screen as your real shop window and it’ll do more to fill your tables than any amount of clever design that only looks good on a laptop no customer is actually holding.

For more on the specifics, see how I approach web design for cafés and how I get a café found on Google, and if you also do evenings, restaurants and bars and pubs have their own rundowns.

What clients say

Real, verified reviews, never invented. Proud of the 5.0 rating.

“We asked Jake to help us create a new website as our old one was outdated and was not doing well with SEO. Our new website looks amazing and we are now ranking number 1 on Google! Very happy and would definitely recommend.”

Debbie Collins Google review

“Absolutely amazing service. Jake built me a professional local website and helped get my business ranking number one in my area. I'd previously spent hundreds of pounds on ads with very little to show for it, but since getting the website and local SEO sorted, I've seen a real difference. Jake now takes care of my local SEO for me, so I can focus on running the business while the enquiries and jobs keep coming in. Couldn't recommend Jake enough to any local business looking to get found on Google and bring in more work.”

“Top quality service from Jake. Communication was on point from the moment go, being able to talk directly to Jake unlike a big provider made the experience so much easier and better. Needed a website for my kitchen that I could easily add, edit and remove things like menus and photos, and Jake did just that and more. Exactly what I needed. Thanks for everything Jake!”

Questions

The things people usually ask

Can't people just find my café on Instagram or Google?
They'll start there, sure, but then they want the details, and that's where a lot of cafés lose them. Your own site is where the menu, the hours, the vibe and the location all live in one quick, reliable place. It backs up your Google listing and gives people the confidence to actually come.
How do I keep the menu up to date without it being a chore?
I build it so updating the menu is quick and painless, no wrestling with code. And if you'd rather not touch it at all, changes are part of looking after your site, so you can just message me and I'll sort it.
Do I need online ordering or bookings?
Only if it genuinely helps you. Some cafés want table bookings or a simple order-ahead; plenty are better off just getting people through the door. I'll give you an honest steer on whether it's worth it for your place rather than selling you features you won't use.
What does a café website cost?
From £249, fixed and agreed before we start, a lot less than an agency, and you own it. If you want extras like bookings later, I'll price those clearly so it's your decision.
