Web design for car dealers that sells more cars

Buying a car is a big, nervy purchase, and buyers do their homework online first, browsing your stock, sizing up whether they trust you, deciding who to visit. Your website's job is to show your cars off, put their fears to rest, and turn a browser into an enquiry.

A car dealer’s website carries a lot of weight, because buying a car is one of the biggest, most nerve-wracking purchases most people make outside a house. Buyers spend hours researching before they set foot on a forecourt, browsing stock, comparing, and above all trying to work out who they can trust. Used cars come loaded with fear (dodgy dealers, hidden faults, being pushed into finance), so the dealer who looks straight, well-reviewed and easy to deal with wins the visit. Your website is where that judgement gets made. I build it to win.

Show your stock off properly

Your cars are the product, so they have to look their best. A portal listing squeezes them into a template next to twenty rivals; your own site shows them off, good photos, full detail, easy to browse and filter on a phone. Where your stock system allows, I keep it in sync so your listings are always current without double the work. A buyer who enjoys browsing your stock, and can picture themselves in one of your cars, is already leaning toward visiting you rather than the dealer down the road.

Beat the “dodgy dealer” fear

Trust is the whole battle in used cars. So the site is built to reassure: your genuine reviews front and centre (nothing calms a nervous buyer like other people saying “honest, no pressure, car was exactly as described”), your warranty and any approved-dealer credentials made clear, and a human, straight-talking tone rather than hard-sell patter. For a purchase this big and this fraught, coming across as transparently trustworthy is what turns a wary browser into someone willing to make the trip.

Make the enquiry, and the money side, easy

The gap where dealers lose buyers is between “I like that car” and actually getting in touch. So I make every next step effortless: a clear enquiry, a “reserve this car” option, a simple part-exchange valuation request, and an approachable finance enquiry. The money side is often what stalls people, so making it feel low-pressure and easy to explore captures buyers who’d otherwise wander off “to think about it” and never return.

Own your leads, don’t just rent them

Leaning entirely on the portals means paying for every enquiry and living beside your competitors on their turf. A strong website of your own builds a channel you control, buyers who find you, trust you and enquire directly, with no lead fee and no rival in the next listing. Keep the portals for reach, but your own site is where you win repeat buyers, referrals and the margin the portals quietly eat. It’s the asset that’s actually yours.

Built by me, kept simple

You deal with me start to finish, no account managers, no agency faff, no jargon. I plan it, build it and look after it, and the site and domain are yours to keep with no lock-in. New stock to feature, a finance offer, a seasonal push? Message me and it’s done. And once the site’s turning browsers into enquiries, being found by more local buyers is the natural next step, that’s the SEO side.

Questions

The things people usually ask

My stock's on Auto Trader, why do I need my own website?
The portals put your cars in front of buyers, but you pay for every lead and you're listed right next to your competitors. Your own website is where a buyer who's interested comes to check *you* out, your reviews, your reputation, your other stock, and enquire directly, with no lead fee. The portals get you seen; your site is where you win the trust and keep the margin.
Can it show my stock and stay up to date?
Yes. I can display your current stock with proper photos and detail, and where your stock-management system or feed allows, keep it in sync so you're not updating cars in two places. The aim is a site that shows your cars off better than a portal listing ever could, and sends the enquiries straight to you.
How does it help with finance and part-exchange?
Those are often what turns a browser into a buyer, so I make them easy, a clear finance enquiry, a simple part-ex valuation request, a 'reserve this car' button. Making the money side feel approachable and low-pressure captures buyers who'd otherwise drift off to think about it and never come back.
What does it cost?
From £249 as a fixed price, agreed before we start, a fraction of agency money, and the site and domain are yours to keep. Stock feeds and finance integrations vary, so if yours needs something specific I'll scope and price it plainly up front.
