Web design for hair salons that keeps the chairs full

A new client picks a salon with their eyes and their thumb, they scroll your photos, glance at your reviews, and want to book in about three taps. Your website's whole job is to win that split-second and make booking so easy they actually turn up.

A hair salon sells something you can’t put in words, a look, a feeling, the confidence of walking out with a fresh colour you love. So a salon website isn’t really selling haircuts; it’s selling the result, and the trust that you’ll get it right. The person landing on it has almost certainly already seen a photo somewhere, felt a flicker of “ooh, I like that,” and clicked through to see if you’re worth booking. Your site has a few seconds to say yes, and then to make booking effortless. That’s what I build it to do.

Sell the look before you sell anything else

People choose a salon on how the work looks, full stop. So the first thing your site should do is show off your best, proper photos of your colour, your cuts, your finishes, the transformations you’re proud of. Not stock models with impossible hair; your actual clients, your actual work. I build the gallery so it loads fast and looks gorgeous on a phone, because that’s where the decision gets made. A new client scrolling a wall of work they’d love on themselves is already halfway to booking.

Make booking so easy there’s no excuse not to

The moment someone decides they want in, every extra step loses a few of them. A phone number they have to ring during opening hours? You’ve lost the ones who decided at 9pm on the sofa. So I build in proper online booking, pick a stylist, a service, a time, done, any hour of the day. If you already run Fresha, Treatwell or similar, I’ll plug it straight in so it’s seamless. Salons are consistently surprised how many bookings land out of hours once the website stops making people wait for you to answer the phone.

Introduce the people behind the chairs

Hair is personal, clients get attached to their stylist, not just the salon. So a little about your team goes a long way: who they are, what they’re brilliant at, a friendly photo. It helps a nervous new client feel like they already know who they’re sitting with, and it lets someone book the stylist whose work they fell for. It also quietly shows off the salon’s personality, the thing that turns a one-off into a regular.

Sort the practical stuff people actually check

Once someone likes the look, they check the boring-but-vital details: where you are, when you’re open, roughly what things cost, whether you do their thing. A price guide (even “from” prices) filters out the wrong enquiries and reassures the right ones. Clear opening hours, an easy map and parking notes remove the little frictions that make someone pick the salon down the road instead. I lay it all out so nobody has to hunt or guess.

Built by me, kept simple

You deal with me from first hello to launch, no account managers, no agency middlemen, no jargon. I plan it, build it and look after it, and the site and domain are yours to keep with no lock-in. Want the menu or a promo updated for the new season? Message me and it’s done. And once the site’s converting the clients you already reach, getting found by more of them is the natural next step, that’s the SEO side.

Questions

The things people usually ask

I get most of my clients through Instagram, do I even need a website?
Instagram's brilliant for showing off your work, but it's rented ground, you don't control it, and it's a faff for a new client to find your prices, your hours or how to book. Your own site is the one place that pulls it all together and turns a scroll into a booking. The two work best together: Instagram gets them interested, the site closes it.
Can people book straight from the site?
Yes, that's the bit that matters most for a salon. I can build in online booking so a client picks their stylist, service and time without a single phone call, day or night. Most salons find a chunk of bookings come in after hours, when you'd otherwise miss them. If you already use something like Fresha or Treatwell, I'll wire it straight in.
Will it show my actual work, not stock photos?
Always your real work, never stock. A gallery of your own colour, cuts and finishes is the single most persuasive thing on a salon website, because it's what a new client is really deciding on. I build it to show your photos off properly on a phone, where nearly everyone's looking.
What does it cost?
From £249 as a fixed price, agreed before we start, a lot less than an agency, and the site and domain are yours to keep. If you want online booking or something more involved, I'll price it plainly up front so it's your call.
